@backtoindia discrimination is everywhere. Its hard to change ppls minds. But what matters is the intention of the law. The intention of western law is that women have equal rights to men. This is not the case in sharia.

@CCDevlin ok legitimate! I can understand your point of vieuw too...it's just that i think that people in the west better focus on their own discrimination of women in other ways...a burka is more obvious but here in the WEst we have a lot of hypocricy too, women are not free inspite of the illusion given that they are.....what is freedom.....

@backtoindia1 friend... please understand that democracy can only survive if it banns undemocratic things. And the burka is definately a symbol for everything that is not democratic. Thats what they say themselves. They hate democracy but they tell us to accept them based on our democracy. Do you see the controversy? Its absolutely needed to bann burka's to stop the society from being poluted with these unfree idea's. We like freedom even if its not perfect. But life is not perfect.
