Here is a brief tutorial on how to get a character that is level 39 to level 99 in one battle.

Party and gear choices:
The party was chosen to meet these standards: 3 people + the level 39 so the level 39 can stay in the back row.
Hero- Cannot remove. Equipped with fury, double-beat runes (to maximize killing power against enemies and himself), and a fire lizard rune on his weapon so he will kill himself attacking the enemies (as he becomes quite difficult to kill at high levels).
Chaco- Fodder.
Clive- Clive was chosen because he's fairly fast and can snipe off the archers in the back before they attack the level 39.
Eilie- The character being boosted to 99. Her gear is mostly high defense stuff, and her runes are Earth(more defense) and Fire(killing power).

The enemies: The group you'll want to fight consists of 2 Highlands with bows, 2 Highlands with swords, 1 Highlands with a spear, and a Commander. I believe this is the easiest setup for the 39 to win against. Then all you have to do is win the battle, the video is of the strategy I used for Eilie. For melee characters or characters with one or no rune slots, it is a little different.

  • why do you want characters that high a level anyway?

IIRC its more than completable with....somewhere in the 50s characters?

  • Yeah, the game is pretty easy, it was just interesting (to me) after a few playthroughs to get the characters all maxed out.

  • on what point in the game did you do this?

  • Right before the final dungeon, you can get 80's-ish from the door glitch early on (that's how my Riou is 80-whatever), but you don't have many characters available at that point to do it with.

  • @Retribution235 Hey, i know that your comment is over a year old but i really need to know this. What door glitch do you mean in order to get to level 80 something?

  • @Darkzeven66 There is a door that leads to the Matilda area above muse, with 2 knights around it. If you walk up to this door, you can actually push the door out of the frame, and enter that area. I got to level 80 from killing a group of 6 enemies with Riou by himself at a very low level (like 12-18) on the mountain where go with futch and humphrey.

  • @lefimika LIKE A BOSS!!! :D

well forme who cares, the only matter is beat the game

also it's better to defeat every boss and beat the entire game not easily but with suffering, that's what is the true spirit of RPG

not that leveling up OVER 9000!! and beat everything with one hit, every game need to enjoy with effort, not doing everything easily like there's nothing happened

    and that's how i play

  • @RENZDOGG and ff7 i already finished twice, i finished ff8 6 times, ff tactics twice, ff9 twice, ffx trice, ffxii trice, ffx2 twice, suikoden 2 im playing now, legend of mana twice, ffvii dirge of cerberus trice, so now don't ruin people around you -_-

  • @RENZDOGG wtf u want??, FAME??, no one cares what your saying, there's no better game in the world because everyone have their own taste, every game is better, respect the others if you want the people respect you, if you love ff7 and for you that is the best, so gtfo and play it without talking like a small brat -_-

  • Well, I plan on replaying 1 and 2 so I can get all 108 characters. I never got to do the save file from 1 transfer where you meet the hero of 1. But about this video... I'm interested in getting my characters strong and all, but playing it over again just to level characters up to 99 is kind of boring. Unless you plan on using those characters to play the game with more ease, then that's understandable. But I wouldn't level all the characters. Too much time consuming and a waste IMO. lol.

  • There is ONLY one game in the entire WORLD better than this game! That game is Final Fantasy VII! There is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO better game other than Final Fantasy VII! NOT ONE! Suikoden II goes for more then $100.00 on ebay and Amazon but it is FAR FAR worth it! I do own a copy and have owned the copy since 2006 but IF (wont) I wanted to sell it I could get my money back VERY EASY. I do play COD Black Ops and other such games but if I was to choose 2 games for eternity...FF7 and Suikoden 2!

  • @SuperHero346 i did not hear about that trick but i did find out how to use it on my own! it is great! the stat stone trick allows you to keep each stat you use after all your entire party dies and then restarts from the last save. it is great!

  • This game is #1 on my Top list

  • @ArtificialFlavaFTB2

If you ask me it's worth the over 100 dollars asked for an original playstation copy, so yes, yes it is.

  • lol, stupid.. i can do better then you do..

i can made all my party gain level 99..

why do kill all your party for one guy ? thats stupid
