This is a 10 minute video compressed to about a minute taken with a camera affixed to the front of my canoe with wire and electrical tape taken on the Upper Mississippi River near Bemidji. The river, flooded with snow melt, spreads out into the surrounding forest and allows for woods canoeing.

The music is "Midtown" By Tom Waits

You may notice the ripples in the water from :41 to :43. That was a large fish called northern pike making the spring trip into the woods where they spawn. You scare up quite a few of them this time of year. There were also some beavers out. We had just gotten a fresh 6 inches of snow after nearly all the old stuff had melted.
