Savalas was charmed by that Brummie warmth, at that point he was shouted a few drinks. Woke up a few hours later and with a bloody mary he then read a few lines in a studio, then promptly fucked off.
That's my kinda film ... I loves this baby and thought it was some 1960s / 1970s thing ... But then I heard the disco music and that spotted the wedge-shaped Rover dashing out from the police station... hang on, my uncle had one of those in the late seventies... Sure enough, I checked the Harold Baim website and this film was made in 1981. It looks really really ancient but this was only 30 years ago....
You can polish a turd, but you can't polish Birmingham.
