I think he was improvising the chords most likely :P you know what he's like, so to find that chord is kinda incredible if you look at it like that

@conaty90sg You're right, 90% of what T plays live is improvised. Not many people can work out a song on the spot, adding bass, chords and harmony like he can. Some wouldn't even realise it was the first time he'd played it :D

WOW that is a rarity! Saw a vid of Tommy playing this with Adam Rafferty in Helsinki and it was a masterpiece... can't believe he fumbled the chord cause I know he is a perfectionist with this one... (and all the others too... LOL),

I'm just glad that it can happen to anyone, even Tommy! If I'm playing guitar and something distracts me or I try to speak, all kinds of weird notes come out :D

LOL.... yes, folks -- believe it or not, the great TE is actually HUMAN (although I have often wondered if he were a space alien) and capable of fumbling a chord here and there... as I mentioned, it is a RARITY. There is NO acoustic guitar player in the history of acoustic guitar... who has EVER played better than Tommy. Period. So... when he shows his "human" side, then I am sure he would be the first to joke about it! (thumbs down obviously from someone who has not met him in real life...)

@sirlennon87 maybe 90% was an exaggeration but even when playing the melody part of a song, he changes a lot of things...timing, adds slides or ghost notes, throws in short improv licks. Songs that don't have improvising sections still aren't the same each time around.

Maybe he just wanted to make sure he was still human and capable of making a mistake?
