Funny how he had to travel all the way to Alaska to find this reject.

I've got a question for any of you. Who will you vote for? Will you even vote? Can you? If you can and won't, then you are squandering an opportunity that I can't have for three more years, and that's just sad. Besides, this election is going to be historic no matter which candidate is elected.

Anyone who puts "Country First" would never have made such a terribly irresponsible and politically cynical pick for VP.

What's he think? Women are so stupid they've vote for ANY woman, no matter her positions on issues that they care about?

What an insult to all women voters!

Are you kidding about the oil independence part? I'm calling fakepost.

To learn about Palin's independence from big oil, you only need to read her bio. She is pro-drilling, but Palin has increased taxes on oil and gas producers, and she's also working to revoke an Exxon license in Alaska. She further promotes alternative methods of energy usage. Seriously, check her out. From a source other than the Daily Kos, that is.

I love that McCain has to look at his notes to get her name right. He picked someone he had only met twice, and who's name he couldn't even remember. What an arrogant jackass.

If she's so independent, why is she pushing to drill in ANWR, even though she's acknowledged it won't produce oil, let alone gas for 5-8 years? You never answered my question re: how she'll be profitable for the US.

From a statement in July:
"Congressional approval of responsible petroleum development in the coastal plain of Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) -- the most promising unexplored petroleum province in North America -- would be of incalculable benefit to my state and our nation."

If nothing else, this is a brilliant move if for one reason if no other. Do you realize that the McCain campaign just managed to knock Obama off the front pages? THE DAY AFTER HIS "CORONATION" ceremony? Heard anyone talking about Obama today? Right or wrong, good pick or bad, whatever side of the issues you are on you have to admit THAT, my friends, is a hell of a coup from the "old, senile guy who doesn't have a chance".

Yes, McCain doing something crazy will deflect the press from Obama's speech, but think about the damage it does to his campaign in the longer term.

How is McCain possibly ever going to be able to make "would rather win an election than X" arguments? The reason this is getting so much attention is because it's such a random, nonsensical pick that is a thinly-veiled, desperate attempt at winning over Hillary supporters (who are not nearly as stupid as he thinks; she and Palin are opposites).

Too funny. Okay... whatever you say.
