Atta literally means flour. With respect Dholki or Pakhawaj, it is dough made from wheat flour. Wheat flour (and water) is kneaded to the consistency that the player prefers. Generally you may start with minimum of water, but knead it thoroughly. Some players may add some binding agent so that it may not come off too easily during playing.
