Chloe's P.O.V

At once the men's chatter stopped as we appeared at opening of the corridor. Complete silence and tension surrounding us. Just like Nick had said right at the end of the corridor they stood guarding a large metal double door. A domineering bolt locked across the middle keeping it close. Light shone from underneath through the tiny cracks giving me almost hope. Through looking up into their eyes a blazed full of such anger was enough to crush any, they weren't playing anymore they had finished their games and they weren't planning on letting us escape.

No one made an attempt to make contact with each other as we walked further into the corridor.
Nick stood in front of me standing strong holding Mel close to him. Mel's head was fixed forward never moving her eyes from the men in front it was slightly frightening. Kevin stood next to her one hand on her arm the other buried deep into his pocket holding what I took was the hand gun that I prayed would never be used again even if it was just for buffing. Annie stood closely behind him clinging to the back of his shirt. Her face full of worry and anticipation.
The silence was deafening yet Joe's consent breath beating against my hair was somehow calming, his body leant up against mine made me feel somewhat safe yet in reality I knew I was far from it.

"Promise me Chloe if you get the chance to escape your take it even if I'm not with you" his voice was weak and strained as he whispered into my ear but I was having none of it
"If you get the chance to escape you'll take it even if I'm not with you" I replied and he sighed deeply
"Chloe..."
"no Joe you didn't give up on me and I'm being nowhere over dramatic when I say you saved my life...you really think I'm just going to leave without you" I told him maybe a bit too harshly but I needed him to understand. His lips pressed against my hair and my eyes closed for just a moment in content before immediately opening again to the sound that would haunt me forever...that repulsive man's voice.

"I admire your braver I really do" he chuckled and it made my stomach churn
"But your fighting a losing battle do you really think you could escape" he tormented
"There's no need for violence I don't want to hurt...most of you" he stated in my direction and I couldn't help but move slightly so I was hidden behind nick
"I'm giving you an extremely generous choice of surrendering it would be wise if you took it" he bellowed into the corridor at once becoming serious. Kevin looked at each of us and we each nodded in turn before he turn back to face him once more.
"I don't think we'll be taking you up on your offer" Kevin told him surprisingly calmly as he stepped forward Annie still holding the back of his shirt as the rest of us shortly followed him.
"Do you really want to do this" he warmed one last time straightening himself up but we weren't turning back now this torment was about to come to a head an ending one way or another.

Even though the six of us started to creep forward the pair of them never moved from in front of the door Eric himself looked almost relax but on the other hand the smaller guy who stood beside him who I had never seen before looked far from relax he looked on edge

As we crept forward I could see the room I had spent so many sleepless days in tending over nick. The large wooden doors hung open slightly showing the tiled surfaces. It would only take a second to grab the rucksack from inside before I could get back again what harm would it cause
"Annie" I whispered as we got closer to the wooden doors and her head shot in my direction as did Joes. I peered from underneath his arms meeting her eye she didn't need an explanation to know what I was going to do next. She looked at me for a moment before nodding her head. I quickly shifted Joes wait the best I could before he could catch on to my motives. I kissed his shoulder softly before pushing his weight towards Annie who had her arms waiting. Joe caught on at the last minute and I felt his finger tips brush the back of my shirt as I made a dive for the door

The bright red material of the rucksack was easy to spot tucked away between the alcohol bottles. I ran towards them only to flinch as sparks flew from a cut wire on the floor. The movement sent the bottles smashing to the floor as I grabbed the bag and I watched in pure fear as the alcohol ran towards the live wire. You didn't need to me a genius to know what was going to happen next. My legs seemed to kick in before my brain did. I smashed through the door sliding into the wall all eyes turned to me as I tried to recover myself to make another run. But I never made it far before the walls shook with the sound of the explosion and doors flew open sending me once again flying back into the wall but this time with a wave of heat as the corridor filled with smoke from the wild flames.
