Shooting junk in the desert with the CMMG .22lr conversion for AR-15's with my Rock River Arms carbine. Been using this conversion for over a year with about 95% reliability. I have put close to 10,000 rounds through the kit (i love shooting .22lr). There was a bit of a break in period when I first got the kit, but after about the first 500 rounds or so it now functions near flawless (says alot being a .22 and all..) I do not recommend using "hyper velocity" rounds as you will find that they go everywhere except what you are aiming at. Use standard or high velocity rounds only. I usually shoot what you'll see in the video, cheap, cheap, cheap federal bulk ammunition and it runs great. I'll usually top off an hour of shooting the .22's by putting the original AR bolt back in place and blasting the gunk out with some .223 remington. If you cannot do that then I recommend REMOVING the .22lr conversion after shooting, as it is possible to experience some issues removing it later.

  • would this be a good gun for home protection?

  • @379peterbilt530 no, not at all

  • Have you had any jams with this model because I'm thinking about get this?

  • @imabeastman33 There are occasional jams but no more than 1 or 2 out of a 100 rounds. For a .22 i'd say that's pretty damn good ;). And that's with shooting cheap federal brand ammo too. I'm sure with CCI mini mags it would be almost 100%.

  • cool gloves man..where did u get them

  • @istuddd thank you ;). they are just my work gloves that i got from walmart with the index finger and thumb cut off on my shooting hand.

  • @wrduckclub a 22 would deffinitely kill some one but I'm getting a 5.56 NATO

  • @379peterbilt530 Yeppers...................if you're protecting your home from beer cans! Come on you can't be serious.

  • is that @ pichao state park in california

  • @malro67 fuck you a 22 can fuck someone up

  • @379peterbilt530 While a .22 might not having the punch of a 5.56 or .223 - it doe smuch more damage internally when you actually do shoot soft targets. So yes, in fact, it could be used well for home protection.

  • WHen you use the kit, does the forward assist still work? I noticed you used the chagre to reload.

  • @379peterbilt530 noooooo, this is mainly a varmint rifle or small game, go for a shotgun of some sort or revolver for protection reasons.

  • @darkcosmos88 you dont need a differnt barrel. its so close it works.
