The gipsys or the romans as we call ourself are not as strict as u say. we are from all around the world.
Different types of romans, tribes, countrys, even our language is different depending on which part of the world were from.The romans has always been dancing its in our blood :) traditions from other coultures influenced some of us to be more reserved. Taj trobundanas te sicos so si o romano kelimo naj feri po 1..2..3.. kash, bar :)

Gypsy as in short for Egyptian maybe but definetely not Romani. Belly dance would not be allowed in true Romani culture. Romani have their own dance styles that descend way back in India. Romani dancing has nothing to do with revealing and wiggling of the waiste but is all about clapping tap dance and raising of arms.
