@anSiarach thanks for that, I know the Welsh language is VERY similar to some Indian dialects and that the Greek Empire especially when trade and cultural 'commodoties' were introduced and then merged have been powerful in influencing Europe's development.- I suspect this is the route of Celtic and other European mythology, lots of myths and stories across Europe have similar stories and yes Europe has been influenced by Indian culture, I find the ancient world fascinating.

What root is the Gaelic language, I may be wrong but to call this 'Irish' would be wrong, is it more accurate to state they are speaking Gaelic? I know the Celts came from German tribes - but as an English speaker I cannot understand ANYTHING not even a context like I can when German or Latin based languages are being spoken - it sounds like a Total departure from latin base, am I right in this? I am not an academic, just curious about this language and it's history, thanks.

bottom line, if you're in the north, chances are, you're a squatter brought over from scotland by the english to run out the native irish. can't blame the native irish for protecting their lives and traditions.
