The Blue Mansion, Penang - Malaysia

Location: Malaysia, Penang, Cheong Fatt Tze's Blue Mansion.

Not much visual material is available hence the need to fill in the void.

The ~3US$ tour avec highfalutin guide extolling all that's Sino architecture and whatever else (Tze' crib's ok, don't get me wrong but, for example, Romans and others were already building similar multistoried 'concept' cum impluvium domus in their insulae, over 2k or more years ago!) and shows you only six rooms: the entrance, main courtyard, two huge open areas, room full oldish clothing and other assorted memorabilia a 'home stay' bedroom if available!
A ground floor ex kitchen (I've excluded this from the room count) metamorphosed into a dispensary of not so cheap souvenirs, books and postcards for los Turistas.

The tour is bearable; though the whole operation smacks a tad of typical "gimme yer clams" with not much in return SEA commercialism. Yes, yes it cost's money for the upkeep of the joint, I know, jus try to rake in the dosh a little more subtly and less sooo in "yo face" style (and that is also one of the raison d'être of this short video i.e. anti la maison's "no pix" policy!)

Marmers, yep! plenty of watering holes on Penang rd and Chulia street, ya should try some health spas too, provided GoW aint in tow ;-)
