I take issue with the statement ' where admittedly a better car was awaiting them' - my ass! The ax4n is crappy but Like the v6 honda trannys we're any better? People are stupid - plain and simple. Right up until the latest generation Accords and especially Camrys - these cars performed below avg. to poor in rear ender crash test with the camry being and out and out death trap!, w. legions of morons strapping babies in the back of them. dealer service is what hooked the sheeple on jap.

Then what you need are people who'll give it their all.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures." That one quote was a big part of what went into the original Taurus; Ford wasn't going to go quietly so they took a big risk and went all out. But there was motivation: they had nowhere to go but down if they didn't do anything.
However, we need people in these companies who are passionate and willing to give what the driver wants all the time instead of when their livelihoods are threatened.

Ford does take a lot of crap for what many believe renaming the ford 500 to the Taurus. But many people fail to look outside the box and i think this commerical shows that this car is not a renamed 500 but it is now a new standard in the automotive world, hopefully they will make dreams come true and bring back the SHO Taurus.

That is just the problem. Ford isn't trying. Their cars are great, but their marketing fails to show any of the car's true potential. The only Ford model that has a competent marketing plan is the Ford F-150, and that car is sold in a market that doesn't really exist anymore, thanks to three dollar gas prices.
BTW macmacs, you seem to be interested in Tauruses. I have a 1993 Taurus ad in my channel. :)

Too bad the folks at Ford have been snoozing for years. The Taurus used to outsell both the Camry and Accord, but Ford became complacent. It's unfortunate they ignored serious defects in their AXODE & AX4N transmissions until the 2000's when it was too late. Poor quality and lackluster styling of the 96+ models drove folks into Japanese showrooms, where admittedly a better car was awaiting them. The new 500 should have had the improved engine, styling cues, and the Taurus name from day one.

OK, I did one with the female vocals, its on my page =)

that was sweeeeet! History meets present day... Nice job
With an ad campaign highlighting Taurus successes of the past, Ford might just convince Americans to buy another Taurus. Those unforgettable Taurus jingles of the past remind me of a better place in time where America was #1 in the world in every which way possible. Ford should do themselves a favor by taking a cue from your work. The new Taurus needs a great ad campaign like that of the first generation. This may be their last chance at redemption.

I totally agree, Ford is very capable of redeeming themselves if they try, or make a better attempt.

This is fantastic! JWT Ad Agency SUCKS! At least this commerical grabs your attention, is upbeat and brings some LIFE into the brand. Nice pictoral heritage of the Taurus, too. Good job! FORD: Get rid of JWT.
