We are now trying to find a key to get to the ark..
SDA kids fooling around in church
The Ark of the Covenant was created by the Israelite as they fled Egypt and
began their independence and made their own laws and God-made government. The Arkk of the Covnant was placed and kept in the Most Holy section of the sacred tent, the high priest would only visit it once a year to make atonement for Israel or something like that. Inside the Ark was kept the tablets of the Ten COmmandments, Aaron's budding staff, and a the jar of Manna from Heaven. The Bible says that the Ark was the seat of God, and His presence was so strong that it could kill the high priest if he wasnt ceremonially clean and what not. So the high priest had to tie a rope to his leg and where bells (golden pomegranites) at the bottom of his robe so that if the other priest could not hear the ringing, then they would pull the rope out.
Other artifacts that were made along with the Ark of the covenant
were the table of the Holy bread, the Altar for sacrificing animals and the Altar for sacrifing flour and olive oil and such (as incense), also the very famous Jewish chandelier, the tent of the tabernacle, the priest's attire, breastplate, robe, under garment, urim and ummim (or something) were two stones that some priest used to tell what God said in "yes or no" answers.
details can be found in the second half of Exodus
afterthe death of King David, (the second King of Israel)
his son, Solomon, took over and built the Temple, which was where the Ark of the Covenant was kept from then on.
there is an interesting story in, I think its first of Samuel chapter 3 or 4... lemme check... yes its is chapter 4 of 1 Samuel... the story ssays of the Ark was taken to battle because Israelites were trying to use it as a good luck charm (tsk tsk).
So the Israelites lost the battle (I believe) and the Ark was stolen. The philistines took the Ark and placed it beside the statue of their God, Dagon, the next day they came back and Dagon was fallen over, so they stood it up. and then the next day they came back and it was fallen and broken into pieces. After a while people of philistia began to die and to get horrible diseases of sorts and plagues or something. and they thought it wass because of the Ark, and so I think they hired a guy to see if it was because of the Ark and he said yes. so then they Asked him how to get rid of the ark and he said to tie some cowws to it, so they did. and the cows walked the Ark back over to Israel to some guy's house, I think the guy was afraid of it so he gave it to someone elsse, and that someone else said yay.
This story proves that the Ark of the Covenant does indeed have a mind of its own, and it will kill if it thinks its best; therefore was well portrayed in with Indiana Jones
