@dfcvda: The physicalist model of consciousness cannot explain everything we have observed surrounding mind and brain. What physicalism can't explain simply gets classified as mysteries 'to be solved at a later date'. AKA, Promissory materialism. The reducing valve model of consciousness works much better.

@dfcvda: I think we do have strong evidence that points to continuity of consciousness, even if you throw out everything not accepted by mainstream science (a mistake, I think) such as veridical perception during NDEs, psychic mediums, etc, there's still plenty of scientific evidence that directly conflicts with mind=brain. Such as terminal lucidity involving severe brain damage, brainless organisms demonstrating learning behavior, and severe hydrocephalus.

You can never say because you havent died even if your in coma you have brain activity, when you sleep you dream even if you dont remember you were still dreaming. Honestly im not saying there is an afterlife but i find it hilarious how you seem to think you know there isnt an afterlife. you dont know how matter changed from energy so how do we know what happens to matter once it decays. Dont pretent like you know, you have no idea what death is

Guess what it's not evidence but it definitaly POINTS towards an afterlife and you can't denie that. If you do your just close minded and in denial but it okay, you must have had a pretty shit life if your hoping for nothing. ALso if consciousness is not there after we die then its not before were alive, so it's something from nothing then? physics doesnt agree with that

@freqeist This guy died for 90 minutes and in his claim of an NDE he said he went the tunnel and all that stuff. He explains that he was talking to people adn they told him he couldn't stay he had to go back, so he shot back through the tunnel and back into his body and came back alive. So your telling me that, that's just a hallucination? So he hallucinated for 90 minutes after he was pronouced dead? Haha Let me guess your response (continue)
