Obama vs McCain - A Stark Contrast in Their First Debate

Nearly two hours before Obama's speech and accepting his role as the presumptive nominee, John McCain attempted to upstage him and steal some of the historic moment. I chose a few choice video clips from each speech and ask you to note the stark contrast between the now two presumptive nominees for the presidency.

mccain means an isolation and further economic decline for america. Europeans and the rest of the world will want notthing to do with americans. It's naieve to think america doesnt need foreign partners and it will surely lose its leading standing in the world.

You can really tell how a politician believes by noticing how well they treat their woman. Unlike McCain I have never compromised our Military Oath and Information to any enemy, pushed wives of P.O.W's to the wall near a staircase in order to avoid their input, or treat a wife in total disregard over her physical disability from an auto accident with children between them.

What do you have against socialism? oh thats right your a spoiled rich dickhead living in america. You know what this "dear contry" has done for the rest of the world? Eat away at every last bit of it for our own needs. I say we fuck democracy and captalism to hell and take up communism if it means know more starving diseased children in third world contries, and no million dollar corporations.

I don't mind paying my share, but "entitlement" from the government erodes the spirit of working hard. I know many well to do Americans that are very generous with their money to the needy.

Obama's redistributive policies are nothing NEAR socialism. In fact, had you looked at what other G8 countries' social policies were like, you would have seen that many of them, though extremely capitalist, have way higher taxation ratio for the wealthiest (in Quebec, it's 52%), allowing them to create equitable and accessible social programs for all their citizens, regardless of their income. This is Sen. Obama's goal. Aren't basic human rights (health, educ.) part of the American values?

If you want to know what policy would really be of the benefit of americans, look up Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, and Ralph Nader's views on the issues. Both McCain and Obama are warmongers, and aim to please their rich friends, keep it in mind, both of them voted for the $700 Billion our tax dollars to be given to the Wall Street Bail Out. They are not for the people.

That's the danger of basing everything on soundbytes, you never get the whole story.

McCain is upset that Obama announced it to the world, and he also said the same thing after Palin's comment.

Palin never banned a book. She did look into how to go about doing it (in case her constituents started demanding that she do it) but she never did. That list of books is a fabrication.

As for the whole dictatorship thing... get a grip.
