Dark Energy + Revolution: Popcorn Bop Eins (Raw Cut)

Test drive of the Doepfer Dark Energy (right channel), MIDI sequenced by a Future Retro Revolution (left channel). Ambient dronespace and mixdown provided by Blacet/Metalbox/Wiard/Cynthia modular synthesizer system. The Dark Energy uses the Popcorn parameter setup described in the Doepfer manual (page 38): VCO and LFOs off, with the VCF set to self-resonate with a simple A/D envelope. Available light video shot with a Sanyo Xacti HD1010, down-sampled to 720p and edited with Final Cut. Thanks for the feedback. I built the "crystal pyramid light organ" from a deck prism and base (from Edmund Scientifics) and a "flickering LED light organ" kit (originally from Jameco, maybe a Velleman kit). Subbed out the provided LEDs with high-output LEDs of different colors. The circuit board fit in the plastic base with a 9V battery, and the microphone and a toggle switch mounted on the outside. Took a couple of hours to throw together. Seemed obvious and seriously retro. ['DB}

where are u getting the synth sounds that you are tweaking? do they come with the dark energy? or are you outputting sound for it?

@MrKorscht your right it does sounds stupid. The revolution is a 1 vco synth.. the sounds is coming from it. As well as the Doepfer Dark Energy.. another synth. They are sequenced.

hey for you this may sound stupid but for me it's a complete mystery. Where does the sound come from? have you uploaded a sound to the revolution or are you making it but pressing the buttons etc? So I mean like do you use a sample for this?

BTW: I'm going to get an oberkorn sequencer to make love to my dark energy :)
