Ultra-Natures 2007
« Ultra-Natures » is a lush virtual garden created for the Glow Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands (International Forum of light in Art and Architecture) and which was projected on the ground of a great square in the city.
The garden's flora is made up of twelve varieties of luminescent, scalar and aquatic plants, water lilies, ranging from herbaceous vegetation bright flowers with red and purple tints and shades of yellow and turquoise on a black background. It's the first time a such project was achieved on a very large scale since it spreads on 300m2.
This generative and interactive flower bed growns at random, opens out under visitor's feet then moves away. Each plant evolves according to a unique cycle that is defined by its morphogenetic characteristics. Motion sensors allow visitors to influence the growth of the garden's plants. These amazing flowers disappear and reappear, creep into visitor's feet on the gigantic place creating stylized organic ballet.
