  • I totally agree! We do need to please the public about their concerns with horse sports . If people stop liking it, then horse sports will also stop. Also we need to get more positive media about horse sports. I think it will help this issue. You really hit home when you talk about the concerns in breeding. Breeding is a huge issue. Maybe teaching people how to responsible breed and take care of the horses they breed, will help future horses be more healthy. Educating people is the solution.

  • You guys are wonderful. I'm glad to see that you are thinking logically! Many equine and animal welfare groups say that horse slaughter needs to be ended, AND that horses shouldn't even be ridden, especially not for sport. You guys are very intelligent and educated, please please please keep spreading this information and beliefs.

  • @Equestrian08 Not all animal welfare advocates say that horses shouldn't be ridden. I consider myself an animal rights advocate and I have and ride horses. I have many friends who are AR advocates and they feel the same way. You are referring to extremists I think. Unfortunately, there are many crooked cruel people in equine sports and those are the ones that need to be identified and tossed out.
