Since FAT file system hold limited storage, i planned to reformat the drive into ntfs file system. To do so, i am opening the cmd window and i am entering the command 'convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs' which is used for ntfs conversion. After that windows has checked the file system and found no problems. Then the message follows as 'This drive is dirty and cannot be converted. You will need to clear the dirty bit on this drive by running CHKDSK /F or allowing AUTOCHK to run on it the next time you reboot. The conversion failed and the drive was not converted to NTFS'.
Recommended:
FAT file system can only store limited number of items. So we are going for NTFS.
