Fabric "Paper" Towel Roll- DIY Tutorial

In this video I teach you how to make a roll of reusable fabric "paper" towels for your kitchen! Stop wasting money and paper buying roll after roll of paper towels and make your own instead! I love repurposing items into something functional and this is just the project for using old or thrifted towels. It's a "green" and environmentally friendly project that everyone should consider making. They will also make great gifts!

This is a super easy beginner sewing project and even if you've never sewn before you will be able to make a set of these kitchen towels with my step-by-step instructions.

- Old towels
- cotton fabric for backing (I prefer flannel but whatever you have will work)
- thread
- sewing machine

- iron/ironing board
- rotary cutter + mat
- scissors
- pins

Can you use hook and loop instead of snaps? I went through a baby phase and made a bunch of bibs (and burp cloths and rag quilts, and stuffed animals, and fabric toy blocks lol It's just so easy to sew for babies because everything is so cute) and I have a ton of hook and loop left over.

Yes, just keep in mind that if you don't the loop part stuck to the hook part when you put them in the wash it will get stuck on the fabric especially if you use terry cloth or flannel. Have fun!

I just made 10 of them. I used up a pkg of wash cloths my husband bought at Costco. They were all white.. I didn't need them. I had a bunch of different flannel. I didn't put the snaps, but they look great. Thanks once again for another great tutorial

Great tutorial! Just wondering though, how are the ends of towels holding up? Are the ends fraying badly? Also, how many do you find yourself going through a day or week?
