I think I get the plot.

So, the beak guy, is in love with the cone guy, so he sees the cone guy as a present for himself, but he has to jump the ledge to get to his present, but he failed, and was impaled by the spiked. So he has a dying dream where he turns back time, makes it over the ledge, and the hand comes out of the present, because.....Dying dreams are weird. The Close ups of faces...to empathize the insanity...of death...or something....
