@doctorstoppage Don't. It will remove the protective nature of the finish on the slide and barrel and will rust. I believe they made a Polished Nickel version if it's that important.

pistols aren't completely banned in the uk. they are allowed as long as they are single shot and have a barrel of 12 inches or longer and have a total length of 24 inches or more. semiautomatic pistols are allowed in .22 only. also an exemption exists for firearms made before 1917, and a good friend of mine has a m1911 officers pistol date stamped 1915, which he inherited from his great great grandfather.

That accident did not stem from the Uncle's carelessness. It is the deliberate disregard of the English government for public safety. Demonizing or banning firearms does not help the public. They just lable firearms as evil and anyone associated with them as Demons. In reality, the English Parliament is mistifying firearms. Any lawless will take advantage of most lawful's ignorance. Isn't it the same as a magician pulling wool over your eyes?

The English fail. They don't even give their citizens the right to own arms, without excessive regulations like children. The NRA is a deceptive org. who has done a lot for for regulating the 2nd admen. edfire73 is gave us an example. Look it up, and read the history behind the staff.

to get a permit is almost impossible in the u.k.but im very lucky,i can only have a maximum of 3 rifles and 1 shotgun,on my certifate,no pistols,no semi autos with the execption of shotguns or .22 rimfire,we are allowed muzzleloading pistols but i dont like the smell and cleaning,i could go and buy a sega 12,with a 50 round drum and slug.im allowed silencers too,but no pistols?our laws are stupid if i was an 18 year old from a ghetto i could get an illeagal pistol for less than £100.stupid laws

As a british shooter it always makes my heart ache to see a pistol of any caliber,we didnt let them take,our guns they stole them!1 million people marched and demonstated,the u.k nra did absolutley nothing.the president of the u.k nra (sebastian co) ran away and resigned.our governments dont care,or listen to us.3 million marcherd against the iraq war,did they listen?in a country of 55 million nearly 3 million had fireams certficates before the pistol ban.now less than 25,000 do.
