@tricky317 did you seriously just ask "what if it rolls off the platform?" Seriously? Everybody knows if it rolls off the platform it will continue spinning in mid air. Is that what you thought or were you just trying to be funny in youtube comments? Cuz thats what im doing, so STOP!

So if you carried out this same experiment in a vacuum chamber, would the disc spin for longer, shorter, or exactly the same amount of time?
I have no clue as to the correct answer, but i speculate that the disc would loose less energy due to air resistance and sound so it would spin for a little longer.
What say you?

Hmmm. I agree it would probably spin for longer. I just went to try it but I can't fit it inside the Hoover. I knew I should have got the Dyson.

I would like to know about the grid of light on the disk. Why is it a grid and why does "it" rotate with the disk?

Its a stick on hologram thingy. It rotates because being affixed to the eulers disc, which is itself rotating, the 2 go together!
