ON SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2009 MR. BOGDAN CHMIELEWSKI, Chief Executive Officer of the Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union will be Chairman of the 74th Annual Kosciuszko Foundation Dinner and Ball at the elegant and historic Waldorf=Astoria Hotel on New York's Park Avenue. The theme of this year's Ball will be "High Finance and Higher Education." This is particularly apt, as Mr. Chmielewski leads the largest ethnic credit union in the United States. The PSFCU holds more than $1 billion in assets and has 70,000 members. Founded in 1925, the Kosciuszko Foundation is the oldest educational and cultural organization dedicated to fostering relations between Poland and the United States and awards close to $1 million annually in scholarships and grants.
The Ball is the Foundation's annual fundraising event which brings together the most successful Poles in America and the Polish diplomatic community for a night of dining, dancing and networking. Under the patronage of Mrs. Teresa Wroblewska, four young ladies will be presented as debutantes at the Ball. They are Miss Jordan Gelber, daughter of Arthur and Gail Gelber of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Miss Alexandra Golota, daughter of Andrzej and Mariola Golota of Chicago, Illinois, Miss Christina Slomczewski, daughter of Mrs. Maria Slomczewski of Buffalo, New York and Miss Adrianna Zawisny daughter of Richard and Bernadette Zawisny of Staten Island, New York.
In addition to Mr. Chmielewski, the following individuals, who have long supported the work of the Kosciuszko Foundation, will be honored at the Ball: Dr. John A. Cetnarowski-Cetner, Dr. and Mrs. Ronald and Maria Hagadus, Mrs. Mary Ann Iwinski, Dr. and Mrs. Witold and Dorothy Kawecki, Dr. and Mrs. Stanislaw and Anita Milewski, Mrs. Stephanie Mucha and Mr. and Mrs. William and Alexandra Watkins.
A gourmet dinner and participation by cadets from the Military Academy at West Point, dancing to the Hank Lane Orchestra and a performance by the Polish American Folk Dance Company will assure a memorable evening.

Kosciuszko Foundation gave me money for my college tuition. I was proud to be Polish, and hope that more successful people get involved with the Foundation. Polish people need to unite all over the world.
