Adopt Valentino the Duck

RESCUED!!! He will be available for adoption on Monday, 2-11-08. This guy is so much fun. He talks to everyone nonstop and is very attached to people, especially our shelter manager. He follows her everywhere and likes to always know where she is. He loves to take baths and cruise around the shelter like he owns the place. He also likes the fact that we will go dig up worms and slugs for him to eat. He is very easy to handle and will even snuggle with you a little. With all of the activity the last few days, he must have hurt his leg or foot because he does not want to put weight on it. We have him on cage rest for a few days to see if it resolves. He is definitely overweight and will have to be on a diet in his new home.

He actually came to the shelter as a stray that way. Must have been spoiled from the day he hatched so we just kept spoiling him. Yours probably have good reason to distrust people from when they were young.

i have a pet duck already her name is crackers shes 4 months old im not shure if its a boy or girl but im having troubles dont most ducks like bread and stuff all she eats is lettece can you like help mer to find another item to eat ? thanks.

No bread! It is junk food for ducks. Feed stores will have duck feed. They also like worms and snails.

yeah we go to kens feed and we bought this big bag of hard cnchy stuff but she doesnt like it and if its a girl she wont get enough proten to lay eggs just from lettece.

Do you have water available next to the food to mix with the feed. They seem to need or want it to help them swallow.

Hi my name is halimah im 13 years old and about 4 or 3 months ago me and my cousin and best friend went to a park and saw a duck and her little ducklings and then we crossed a bridge and heard a little voice and we went to see what is was and there was a fourth duckling but it got lost so i climbed over the bridge holding tight and picked up the tiny creature and went back to give it to there mom and she was GONE i had to take her home because ducks were trying to eat it but she died RIP ;(
