Part FOUR of the weekly updates from the JOIDES Resolution, sailing for the Antarctic coast of Wilkes Land between January and March 2010. Our mission: exploring the climate history of Antarctica. This week we feature a portrait of James Bendle. He's an English organic geochemist working for University of Glasgow.
That's a fair question! He seems to be in all of the Wilkes Land videos and appears to be an "intergalactic" member of the science party. He is highly unusual, to say the least, but we do like to have a little fun after those long 12+hour days, seven days a week, eight weeks in a row...so he may have been a figment of somebody's imagination...

You be the judge!
