Excellent videos! Superb.
Am on the market for a CNC unit and Probotix keeps popping to the top of the list. I would like to cut aluminum, but am concerned this CNC router does not have the oomph.
Looking forward to watching the aluminum cutting video.

Great videos, I followed your steps and made the same thing (minus the actually cutting...no machine yet) post some more videos if you get a chance...I have a lot of questions lol

Great videos I really enjoy them I just ordered plans to build my own CNC, Your videos answered a lot of questions and concerns I had Thanks..

Very well done, been looking to get into CNC for awhile for some of my projects, this is just what I needed to take the plunge.

Minor point but your are 'zeroing the axis" not homing. the distinction is that homing an axis sends it to a know location based on some sort of switch feedback. This allows you to re home and run your program should it (the PC, power, etc...) crash.
Good job

Hi, is there a way to generate G-code using open source software that is equally as option full as CamBam? I hear Blender could be a possibility?

I like your style, I'm a teacher with years of experience in presentation. You found a mid ground that works well for the beginner as well as anyone interested in the subject. Many tutorials are just too fast. You are comfortable and put the viewer at ease. I too, have a v90 and use CamBam and EMC2 so, I can relate.
Thanks for your effort and kind sharing!

Great videos!! Very informative and detailed. Looking forward to more.
Excellent videos, especially for those of us using CamBam. I notice in the videos that you are using something to blow the dust/chips away from the cutter. What is it and is it controlled via your motion controller? Thanks again for the videos.

It is a spray mist coolant system from little machine shop. It uses compressed air to spray liquid coolant on the bit when cutting aluminum or plastics (anything that needs additional cooling). It was not on in these videos because it wasn't needed for mdf cutting.
Currently I just connect an air line to my compressor 5 - 20psi to turn it on but it could be controlled via the computer with a simple solenoid air valve.
It gets messy fast so I only use it when I have to.

Awesome videos! Great job! Look forward to seeing more of them. I have a Fireball V90 with the aluminum table as well. Love it! I am wondering though, how did you level your aluminum table? Mine is off slightly, and it causes just enough problem to be annoying.
Can't wait to see your videos on cutting aluminum with it!

I had this exact same problem and I did the best I could but couldn't completely level the table.
I ended up using really thin styrene plastic strips from my hobby shop and strips of printer paper to get it fairly level. I would say I got it within .005 to .01in overall level. I just zeroed the bit onto the table and then slowly jogged it back and checking the gap between the bit and table.
For real precise work I put wood down, machine a flat surface onto it, and then clamp the work down.

Saw this on Arduino forum. In two minds about buying what I can afford right now or saving more for a better quality machine. what machine is this?? my budget is $1500. i want the cnc for 2 purposes - pcb milling and engraving onto diecast aluminium project cases. my pcb are really simple analogue circuits for guitar effects pedals. would one of the cheap chinese machines on ebay do the job?? i subscribed - thanks
