High wind soaring/speed flying/ground launching Rhossili South Wales

Fantastic day at Rhossili in South West Wales. Hours of paragliding then when the wind picked up the Speedwing came out of the bag for a little ground swooping. It seems that everyone was out enjoying this fantastic location. Looking into the sky you could see the history of paragliding all flying at once. Skydivers ground launching, paragliders soaring, acro, hangliders and me on the speedwing. All represent different stages of evolution in this great sport. What a day!

do you need a license to soar in wales/uk?

@commandro No you don't. Its not a legal requirement here in the UK but you would be well advised to get properly trained and rated by a suitable paraglider school. Paragliding can be risky and high wind soaring, like in this vid, is another step up as it needs small wings which are very fast and twitchy. Cheers
