DrRossPerry.com.au with Australia's first Caged and Aviary Bird Specialist bird vet Dr Ross Perry advises about caring for birds while many call in at Cromer, Sydney for an afternoon snack. Topics include feeding wild birds, pecking order, caging birds alone, gaol-house bird cages, wing clipping and wing clip injuries. He reminds us that we can earn the trust and enjoy the company of many wild birds up close without having to confine one in a cage for life without a partner of its own kind and opposite sex and with no opportunity to fly and exercise.

  • hows your birding been over there?

i've noticed regularly the crested pigeons make an alert call and they will look up in the sky., i look up too, and high up there is a bird that glides (the hawks tend to glide, the falcons flutter more). it amazes me just how often they have to worry about predators.tough life.there are quite a few you tube clips of raptors hanging around bird feeders, so that is something i may have to deal with later on. who knows, i may just have a few later on.thx again
