Richard Widmark (played the leading man Jed here) said of Marilyn: "...with a very few special people, something happens btw the lens and the film that's pure magic. And she really had it."

that nosey old lady remind me of mrs Kravitz from bewitched, always in peoples lives. lol
-
its funny when they kiss... the pressing of the lips... if they saw kissing in this era they would faint lol
-
that is the point she is in limbo between psychotic states. robotic then emotional. not too far from the crazy ass people nowadays. MM did an amazing job.
-
@sweetbunny9 because she plays a psycho
-
She plays the crazy role well :)

Never seen a Marilyn Monroe movie until watching this clip. Don't mean to sound like a debbie downer BUT she seems kinda mechanical in this movie. Very robotic. Don't see what the big deal is.

I bet she hated being mean to that little girl. She's wonderful, in every aspect possible, I love this serious role as well, shows what she was capable of if she only had the chance. =)

I just get the chills watching this movie it's so freaking weird!
-
@monswat well yeah, this is before she had her miscarriages.
thanks for posting! i dont understand how marilyn did not receive praise for her talent after this movie.. and it was so early on in her career, too!

these old movies always have some great dialogue. the characters speak so refined and eloquently. I kinda wish today's movie had better dialogue instead of just cuss words to express emotion and everything
