When you corner a cat, it's natural reaction is to appear big and hiss. Get toys that have feathers on the tip of a long stick. Also don't record anymore, you're just causing it anxiety.

Aw, poor kitty! give him some treats and feed him [make sure he sees that it's YOU feeding him]. and give him space and a comfort zone. iF he still don't like you, call that cat show on Animal Planet!

Cats are very prone to jealousy. If it's a tomcat, then you, as another male, are a rival for your moms affections. Best just to stay away from it.

That hissing? That's a warning for you to stay away from him. He's not evil, he's scared out of his mind. You may not have ever done anything to him, but antagonizing him by not leaving him alone when he's giving you such obvious signals to fuck off isn't going to make him warm up to you.
