Before the dravidian movement took roots in Tamil part of South India, Tamil cinema produced music whose peaks have never since been scaled. Papanasam Sivan's lyrics and MKT's singing resulted in numerous superhit songs. MKT was the first superstar of South Indian cinema. This segment is from the movie Thiruneelakantar, 1937 - Enjoy.

Thiruneelakantar was a devotee in Chidambaram, which houses the famous temple of Nataraja, Hindu dancing icon. Chidambaram is closely associated with Bhakti tradition.

May Lord Nataraja Bless all.

  • Such a great actor worshipped like God , but during his last age there was no one to even care for him...Ellam Siva Mayam...So dont ever get attached to anything friends.

  • Contary to perceptions, my understanding, a marwari who loved MKT's songs took good care of MKT in his final days. MKT did not have too much property though.

God does not forsake his deveotees ever.
