good grief what is it about Kelly Corrigan and her ability to reach so many so simply? i too was moved to tears watching her with her girls here. i cannot wait for LIFT. once again, brava Kelly.
A touching glimpse into the letting go of being a mother and honestly, being a grandmother, too. Letting that kite string out more and more as we watch our children soar higher and higher is the way it's supposed to go, really, but nobody tells we moms that the process is painful even as we raise them to be independent! But we gave our precious kids wings now we must let them fly.
Thank you, Kelly, and congratulations on finishing your newest book. We look forward to reading it.
"The Middle Place" was a book I will never forget. I read it just after being diagnosed with breast cancer at 38 years old...We have 4 young children and a large catholic family, so I related to Kelly on so many levels. I cried when watching this video because I have two daughters about the same age. I am really looking forward to reading "Lift", because I know it will touch me again. Thank you Kelly for sharing your gift. Liz Yavinsky
After I read The Middle Place, it took a long time before I could read another book because I was touched in such a deep place. I finally recovered and lived more of her message, humor and truth about being human by watching videos about her. We all need to get this book for everyone we know. I had to bully a few people into getting past what sounded sad, and they all loved it. Can't wait to find her on tour.
I started to cry the minute, he daugher touched her on the shoulder. Georgia and Clair are so blessed to have a mother who loves them so much. I survived cancer and the one thing I learned is to parent better, to love them more, to always be creating memories and moments to cheriesh. Parenting is a fleeting gift. They grow up so fast yet all our lives are so fragile and impermenent. I can not wait to read this book and attend a reading by Kelly. She is a hero for all of us.
I love Kelly Corrigan. I pre-ordered the book before I knew what it was about. I'm a fairly recent "empty nester" -- I'm sure LIFT will touch every part of my heart.
I just added this to my blog. I am going to read/listen to this book, because I am the different mother. My child will never be told no, or have tantrums or graduate, or marry or have children. I miss that. I really do.
I was so moved by this video and the topic of 'letting go' as our children age and move away from us. Plus, the song track on this video and Kelly's separate audiotrack is lovely. Can't wait to read this book.
