This is a video about what I feel are the pros and cons of my experience with using a menstrual cup, specifically the Diva Cup. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message or post in the comments. Thanks for watching. For more info and support visit www.menstrualcups.org!

  • Thank you for the great, comprehensive video! One thing I'd add (as a 4+ year cup user) is that I've never had to boil mine. At the end of each cycle, I soak mine overnight in a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide, rinse it off, the store it until next time. No problems!

  • @vaderspal Good point. Since having now owned my cup for almost a year, I simply wash mine with soap and water, then swab it very well with rubbing alcohol and q-tips, then wash once more with soap and water, let it air-dry, and store it away.

  • Fill this with Jack, put it in the butt, then handstand.

  • @bjkimm1 if you want to die, then sure, knock yourself out. That will be a fun cause of death to explain to the family. *DISCLAIMER: I do not advocate doing this of course!

  • what if you have heavy periods due to being irregular???? in no way am i trying to be nasty but just today i dont think i should of had to change my tampon 10times and a pad at the same time!

  • @marissaguel85 Another benefit of a cup for heavy or irregular bleeding, is that you can put the cup in up to 24 ours before your period is supposed to start, so no more surprise entrances from aunt flo

  • I found a diva cup store locator on google, it helped me a lot to find one without ordering one online!

  • @marissaguel85 i use to have the same problem you might just need to empty the cup more often and use a panty liner just to be on the safe side ( I like the cloth one since once you have a set that's all your going to need for at least a few year)

  • @marissaguel85 i have a heavy period i only change mine twice a day i had the same problem when i was usein tampons n pads cups hold a ounce of blood n u only have 2-4 ounces threw your full period i know u posted this comment 3 months ago but i hope that helps

  • Thanx for the information!!!

  • @marissaguel85 Menstrul cups work well for ladies with a heavy flow! I forget the exact numbers, but the average capacity of a menstrual cup is close to the same amount of total blood loss for an entire average period! Cups definitely hold MUCH more than a tampon. Obviously, you will have to empty your cup more often than the maximum 12 hours. I've heard from women with heavy flows who change theirs every 4-6 hours. check out that LJ link I provided for more info on cups and heavy flow.
