In this video I compare the hard drive speeds of my internal Macbook Pro, a Drobo 2 firewire 800, and a iOmega external USB 2.0 drive. (edit) I noticed after the recording Time Machine did a back up to the Drobo durring the speed test :( so its speeds would be slightly higher.

  • also you HDD's inside the MBP are base model 5400 rpms?

  • 1tb w/ thunderbolt and no power cable? yea right. 10gb/s I would expect power. but like you said, if i have a dual TB display the lacie drive needs to be plugged into the monitor or the MBP? i was looking at the 2tb btw.

  • who's dick do i have to suck to get one of these?

  • is the drive loud?

  • So this is the Mechanical HDD version, oppose to the SSD version?
