I purchased the Vado 3rd gen thru HSN on Black Friday. I am pleased to say it was worth the wait. About the size of a credit card, it packs a punch in features. Video quality at 720p is amazing. It has an external mic port and picture adjustment menu as well as a hidden USB port, features the previous generations did not have. This camcorder fits great in your pocket so it goes everywhere you go. If your in the market for a new camcorder. This is the one to get. ***** 5 Stars

can you recommend a video editiong software. I don't have a MAC and Microsoft Movie Editor doesn't accept MP4. So I am searching for a good editiong software. Thanks!!!

I would go to download (dot) com and on the left side of the page is "Video Software" and then "Video Editing Software". Click on that and read reviews.
Corel VideoStudio sounds great but it's not free

Hey Guys, I was about to order a Vado HD 2nd Gen when I fould out about the 3rd gen.
Now, I am not sure what to do:
The 3rd gen is prettier, has a ext.mic and earphone plugs, and what else?
Also, wondering why they say it can take 2 hours with 4GB when the 2nd 8GB is also said to take 2 hours... does that mean battery life, or storage?
Finally, the 2nd gen 8GB is only $130, but the 3rd gen 4GB is $180
What's your take on this?

The 3rd gen is 4GB and will take 2hrs of HD vid, but the highest quality setting is "HD+" of which only 1 hour of video can be taken. This should be fine with most people.
If you have the $50 to spare, the 3rd gen has better low light capture (which most pocket cams are notoriously bad at) and it takes high quality still shots.
If you need to save money, the 2nd gen still has a wide angle lens and a 4GB model can be had for $89 on Amazon. 8GB will run you $129.

Just search "Vado HD" on Amazon to see what I mean. You can also get a waterproof pouch that works with all generations for underwater filming... very cool.

I accidentally removed someone's comment, sorry.
I don't think the 2nd generation has a microphone jack (however the current Kodak pocket camcorder does)
