Have-A-Go Hero - Original

Another Original.

I wrote this a few months back after reading a article in my local news paper about a man who died while chasing a bunch of teens who were breaking into one of his neighbour's cars.

Lyrics:

The night it was cloudy with a wicked winter chill
There's a man on the pavement laying desolate and still
Brought down by his actions fearless and just
Did'nt want to react, but thought that he must.

He was a have a go hero ,He never did any harm
Decided to take a look outside, when he heard a car alarm
Ran out into the darkness as the thieves made there break
He tried to follow them down but its more than his poor heart could take.

The neighours they stepped outside, with there nightgowns adorn
Theres police in the area till the hours of the morn
It's such a shame they say, he's a loverly man
Now zip him up and put him in the back of the van.

The thieves they get nothing, to young to do the time.
Forget it ever happened , and head back to a life of crime,
While a family its at home still pondering their loss,
Wondering when will the penalty ever fit the cost.
