Child in Prison in Indonesia

Kids Behind Bars, a humanitarian project of the Anak Asuh Foundation in The Netherlands. Indonesia has a democracy since several years, the children in prison are now getting a proper education. Nowadays the guards are following the international rules about childrights, as it has been formulated in Geneva. Helping helps, we saw that with our own eyes and we will go on to promote and to train people in Indonesia about human rights. Every year it is going better.

The last month's we could do a lot for these kids. In cooperation with the staff of the institution we build: children department, sportsfield, library, computerfacilities, internal radiobroadcasting, policlinic and nursery and last week we could open workshops for capacitybuilding and incomeraising in prison.

Last month we organized two 3-days-workshops and training about Childrights + trafficking for the workers in prison. This week we install a TV in the children's department.

Zolang dat land Islam heeft (dictatuur), blijven ze arm. Het is een bodemloze put waar je geld in kunt blijven storten. Mensen die in een dictatuur leven, ontwikkelen zich nauwelijks.. daar geloven ze zelf in. Intussen aan het infuus van het westen.
