If they wanted to they could have rolled the Ryan Atwood character from the OC into who Ben plays in southland. Hes a cop who came from a money family in LA, and is frequently asked why he became a cop and called "richy rich" by John Cooper. It might have made for an interesting backstory, not that the current stories arnt interesting. NBC wishes they still had southland....ever since seinfeld and friends went off the air they have struggled to find a hit. They pull the cord on shows too early

i fuckin love this show! it grabbed me right away and i cant get enough! all of the different cop relationships work. the show is straight up real and that's what appeals to everyone that loves it.

@19Legendary86 No its not. NBC canceled it but then TNT took it in and they just renewed it for a third season.
