This was at the BC Open in November '11. I remember watching this match.
They both ended up getting kicked out of the tourney iirc. The GB guy tried to go up to the guy in the blue gi and apologize for the accident after they left the mats. The blue guy still had an attitude, so the GB guy gave up and started yelling / arguing back. I think the GB guy even invited him to settle their differences in the parking lot, at which point he was kicked out.

lol I'd to the same thing probably... but that Asian guy deserves some respect for staying cool.
-
you don't just slap someone like that.....
-
@GoodNamesUnavailable I usually break the grip with my off hand or a downward elbow grip break. He saw where the guys face was. That was a pretty wicked knee. I am a Blue Belt under Kayron Gracie and I train at the Headquarters in Irvine, California. But yeah think what you want. Where do you train?
-
@sk8filmmaker420 YOU obviously don't do bjj!! He was trying to break the grip with his knee. Perfectly legit technique, except that he kneed the other guy in the face by accident.
-
White kid doesn't seem to know what rough play, or accidents, are; maybe doesn't even know what training hard is either, otherwise this would not have faced him.
-
What a bitch. The white gi was just trying to knock off the grip and accidentally kneed him. Of course I'd be pissed but instead of slapping him like a bitch I'd sub him like a mother fucker.

Anyone on here who really does Jiu Jitsu knows there is no move where you knee someone in the face. If he was trying a trip, throw, flying arm-bar, or trying to pull guard, he was way off. Not really sure what he was thinking. That looked like an intentional knee to the face IMO

@mikebgomes dude i'm here to help

@qqPropagandApp Thanks for answering
Everyone, settle down; this is a freak accident. I've been training bjj for15 years, I've received my second degree black belt stripe, and I've been competing for 13 years. I've been kneed in my face, in the nuts, in the chest, and every part of the body. It's an accident. The Gracie Barra kid (white gi) was going to break the grip, very standard and as he was going to knee the grip the blue gi guy's head was low. It's a contact sport people, accidents happen and this is not the right reaction.
