@gymguy25 Fair enough, man. You made it sound like Lindros was actually quite weak.Keep also in mind that unlike Twist,Lindros couldn't get too muscular, because that would slow him down.Just check him out as a Star, where he was evidently heavier and slower than he wished.Lindros just maintained himself for his kind of game, and he was I say it outright, the best conditioned hockey player there's ever been,no doubt.Notice in the video, they both slam into the boards equally,Twist wouldn't beatTheBigE
@88BigEtrain I didn`t workout with him, I just read that in a magazine article during the 90s. I know darned well a bigger bench press doesn`t necessarily mean stronger as I used to compete in strongman contests. I've seen guys who could bench well over 500 lose to guys who could barely do 400, sometimes even in the log press which is closely related to the bench press.
@gymguy25 Did you actually work out with Lindros?Or somebody just tell you that.if you don't witness it,it's just a rumor. There are plenty of them about Lindros, most of them a bunch of crap.Even If I were to suppose that you're right, the fact that you lift more than the other player doesn't make you stronger. There is more involved in being stronger than the others in fights.Lindros stability, balance and how strong his core was,for example, were unmatched.
@47tooter Oh,I see.McSorley wasn't capable of anything else,so he'd better be a good fighter and earn his money.Otherwise, bye, bye NHL.And the only blood I saw was the blood on McSorley's face.He landed all the punches on the back of Lindros' head, which were harmless.McSorley was fortunate to take his jersey off,so that Lindros couldn't grab him.Like Bill Clement said-you can't grab the skin.
People are always talking about how strong Lindros was, he was only about a 300 lbs bench presser, I know when you are 6'4 and have arms that long, it's a bit more impressive than it sounds but still, there was a lot of guys in the NHL who were stronger than him. Tony Twist for example was known for benching well over 400, I've heard as much as 450.
