On Oct. 18, 2007, the Society of Columbia Graduates' 59th Annual Great Teacher Award was presented in Low Library, Columbia University, to Jacques Barzun in celebration of his 100th birthday. Prof. Barzun, who was not present, accepted the award in words read by Provost Alan Brinkley in the last 5 minutes of this video. Uploaded with the permission of the Society of Columbia Graduates.
