I love Jeffery R. Holland, he has got such a powerful testimony. It is such a pity that people harden their hearts toward the truth. I guess they just get their information from the wrong sources.

@brendos444 Furthermore, Holland is misrepresenting the Trinity. It is no where taught that God is unknowable as a personal being. God is revealed most fully in the person of Jesus. Yes the Trinity is a mystery. But so is Hollands notion that three separate gods do not constitute polytheism. Of course this is polytheism. If the persons of the Godhead are not of one substance, but are separate beings, this is polytheism pure and simple. Nevermind the other Gods that LDS believe exists.

It is precisely because orthodox mainstream Christians believe in the ongoing guidance of the Holy Spirit that we consider the councils of the early Church correct. And Holland misrepresents the reason for the Nicea Council. It wasn't that the Trinity was in dispute, but rather the Arian denial of Christ's divinity. The Church in its wisdom and by the Holy Spirit arrived at the conclusion that Arianism was a heresy and that God is three persons of the same substance.

Holland is a liar, and child of Satan. Three bear record in heaven and these three are ONE. The Word of God created all things visible and invisable.

Ok...so God didn't have sex and at the same time...Jesus was the first born...got it.
-
LDS do not believe God had sex with goddesses... that is your perverted propaganda. And yes people believed in a pre mortal life before JS came around. LDS do not believe Jesus was created... just the first born. The also believe that everyone is eternal... you have your facts wrong. You are again... perverting the truth... you mary believe comes from a quote that says something like his birth and conception was as natural as ours. meaning it was not magical...

@sk8er408 Before Joseph Smith - nobody believed, as Mormons now do, that we are all the sons and daughters of god because we were spirit babies created by god having sex with goddesses. To Mormons, what makes Jesus special is that he is the first CREATED spirit baby and god's only son that was sent to earth by god coming to earth in a physical body and having a physical relationship with Mary. I don't mean to sling mud, but that is a pretty big change...

Your statement is odd. JS did not do anything to unfinished the work of Christ.
-
@vintageyellow71 If all you take away from from "It is finished" is that his suffering on the cross is finished, then you are missing the bigger picture. You made my point, he left only when he was ready and after he had created the structure needed to carry Christianity forward. By saying the structure he created fell apart so he later needed Joseph Smith to repair it, is to say that He was not successful.
LDS Church – I respectfully request that you ask this question. Was what Jesus did on earth not enough? On the cross, Jesus said “It is Finished!” What did he mean? What was finished? Was he wrong? Did Jesus need Joseph Smith to come and finish or fix the work he had done? What was finished? - I would say, EVERYTHING that needed to be done was finished by Him. I hope this is received in the same manner that it was sent. If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t care what you believed.

Thank you for your concern. I think you understand something that Jesus said, then enlarged it into something it didn't include. How do you take his statement of his crucifixion being finalized and "done", meaning the sacrifice and His enduring the cross is over, finished, (Done), and grow it into a complete and total detachment of the Saviors dealings with the whole human family? Why leave behind the priesthood and church with 12 apostles, bishops teachers, priests if it's done?

Never did he say, nor intend to detach and leave Gods children to flounder in doctrinal confusion until his triumphant return. You have not read the bible and understood the communication and love our Heavenly Father has for us and would never stop in instructing his children in the knowledge that will bring is family home. Would you, a loving parent do that to your children? I know you would not. Don't listen to your pastor or anti Mormon stuff. listen t the spirit.
