@CmonMan101 Get yourself some 1% tempo dust, you can use like a tablespoons worth and knock out the whole nest. I love tempo dust!!

That will also kill the bush they are under. Gotta watch out for what you spray with petroleum based products. Plants can't take any of the "quick kill" Wasp Sprays
As someone who kills these for a living I would suggest doing everything after dark. They need light to fly and most will be at home. Drenching it with an end-of-the-hose sprayer with any yard chem. would be easy and effective

@kratos223 we live in San Jose, CA.
theres not too many insects here, but u run across some once in a while. this is the 4th hive/nest ive experienced in my life, probably the most easily accessible too
the first one was in a tree and i threw a sand at it. then got stung once - i was in 5th grade

its an electric fly swatter. usually kills flies on contact. but with these yellow hornets it takes like 10 seconds of contact. first the wings burn off and then the abdomen pops
