Leticia Jimenez of Ven Pa Ca flamencos to 'Mexican Moon' at New Orleans' Preservation Hall. You can hear the sounds of the French Quarter before we start.
Even though the city has a rich Spanish heritage, flamenco had never been performed in the Hall. 1 camera unmixed and unedited, this will be part of a documentary to be finished later in the year.

  • ..like you said, you are not anybody, and this woman is one of the best and most schooled Flamencos in the world. The song is NOT flamenco and NOT in any correct Flamenco compas, and it was amazing she graced that stage and this half-assed song the way she did so you pretty much don't know what the hell you're talking about. Fuck you and stick it up your ass.

  • ..you don't know what this means to me. Thank you for your comments, and thanks to the Hall.

  • Way to stand your ground J! What a f-cking idiot for them even commenting!

  • @johnettenapolitano tell 'em, j!

  • This is so amazing. Johnette please do a Spanish CD aye!

  • @johnettenapolitano

    Bravo - - you are both bad asses - que bello . . .

  • @johnettenapolitano You know, Johnette, those that can, do. Those that can't - criticize. For some reason, the internet - and anonymity - turns people cruel. Ignore it and continue bringing beauty into the world.

  • with the upmost respect as I am not anybody but at best this may be acoustic folk with a slight fusion only because of the foot percussions but please do not call this flamenco. Just put the title of the song! 41 year rule of spain obviously did not leave enough heritage to sustain itself. Please don't call this flamenco. Her compas (accents) are off, no grace in the arms. Kudos for doing her part. i guess. song is great though. lose the girl. Maybe she just can play castenets, if she can.

  • Beautiful on both parts, and as a whole.

  • And the modern rebirth of Flamenco starts here. Starts now. We are the witnesses.
