MPP spokesperson Dan Bernath speaks about the failure of marijuana prohibition on Fox & Friends. This segment was produced the day after MPP released an ad in California promoting the taxation and regulation of marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol. Several California TV stations refused to run the ad, drawing criticism from many sources. Also appearing on the segment is prohibitionist John Lovell of the California Peace Officers Association. 07/09/2009

Social problems from cannabis use?  Such as....?

First off, it won't be street prices + $50 tax. As others have mentioned marijuana does not cost much to produce in large quantities therefore the legalized product (including tax) will likely be less expensive or at worst the same price as street prices are now. I don't know about others, but i'd much rather take the legal option. As far as social problems, I am no expert, but in my opinion, there is just as much chance that it would benefit society by decreasing alcohol and tobacco consumption

Marijuana is not just adding another vice, rather it is offering a safer alternative to much more harmful substances such as alcohol. Why should an adult who responsibly chooses the safer of these two substances be considered a criminal?

Marijuana is safer than alcohol. period. people should have the right to chose it and not fear the stigma of a criminal record.

Cannabis is available to every one all the time now. It's easier for kids to get it now then for a 30 year old. So I don't get that argument at all.

Witch way do you think the representative of the Police Officers Association is going to come down on this argument? His Wife his children his Mother, he would arrest them all. If the penalty were death he would summarily execute each one of them. Nothing, including the death of his entire family would change his mind. There is a Sheriff in the county I live in. He has stated publicly that if he caught his daughter, a high school homecoming queen with marijuana. He would shoot her to death.

Wow, that is the first time that I have ever seen a fox news anchor be so reasonable and open-minded!!!!!

Most anchors, Fox news or otherwise are either negative on marijuana or they just make a joke of it. Except for the CNBC business reporters. The financial minded people seem to be for ending cannabis prohibition.

LEGALIZE IT!!!!!!
