Frost Mage PVP 4.0.1 - 100% Critical Strike on Frozen Targets

How to gear and spec your Frost Mage for PVP in Patch 4.0.1. You may or may not like it, but I found it works for me. Maybe this will help some Mages out there. The rest of them own me anyway.

Ah. Thanks for the vid. I reactivated my account after a year and a half off. So glad to see frost got buffed. I was mostly frost from 1-70 AOE grinding. At 80 (back when WotLK first came out) you had to go Fire or Arcane to do any respectable dps.

The 33.3% "soft cap" on crit helps a lot. After hit capping I replaced Molten Armor glyph and did some reforging to bring me *down* to 33.3%. I replaced most of it with haste...any recommendations for or against that after you hit the crit cap?

@sm753 In this video I picked 20% haste because I liked the number, but I have now have tweaked a few slots and dropped to 15% haste to add more SP. Sp is the next best thing to improve your ferocity because you can physically only get so much mastery from reforging. I mix PVE and PVP gear, so will have a certain amount haste that I can't avoid. Because FB now has a 2 second base cast, you get less out of stacking haste this patch. At 15% haste my FB is faster than it was prepatch with 33%.

might sound like a noob question, but doesnt having glyph of frostbolt take away the whole purpose of having frostbolt if taking away its slow ?

@Brightblackness That's the way it's supposed to be... At WoTLK, a really good warrior could kill a mage... Warriors killing mages? Something wrong there, huh... Now that mages are killing warriors, it's working the way it should.
