Jenny's Chocolate Pudding

1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups of 1% milk
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch,
and cocoa powder.

• In a measuring cup, combine the milk & egg yolk.

• Add the milk mixture to the dry mixture in the pan and
combine well until there are no lumps.

• Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it
comes to a gentle boil. If desired, add a small 1" piece
of dark chocolate.

• Once it boils it will thicken in less than a minute so keep
stirring until it's thick.

• Remove from heat and add vanilla.

• Pour into serving cups and chill for at least an hour.

• (To serve it warm, just let it sit on the counter for an hour)

Makes 4 servings

  • Do we use caster sugar?

  • @affrinayasmin - I have never used caster sugar but since it is just finely ground sugar that dissolves more quickly, I believe it would work. I wish I could say for sure but that's the best answer I can give. I hope you'll report back if you try it.

  • how long do u refrigerate for???

  • @crispycrasta1998 - An hour. (oops, I didn't mention that in the video but it's on the printed version - sorry)

  • do we have to use dark chocolate bars

  • @partyrocker108 - Dark chocolate has the most antioxidants but you can use milk chocolate or don't add any at all. I add the dark chocolate to increase the health benefits, plus it give a richer chocolate taste.

  • thx for the recipe!

  • hi that looks greatand you r very funny

  • Step 1: Make sure it's 4AM and you've lost control of your life.

  • Haha! You're cute. Thanks for the recipe!

  • @freeangeldust - I've never tried it with brown sugar because I think it would weight the pudding down. Also, they say that nutritionally, there is no difference between white and brown sugar - they are both sugar.
