The Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) (Kyūjitai: 大日本帝國陸軍, Shinjitai: 大日本帝国陸軍, Romaji: Dai-Nippon Teikoku Rikugun), or literally Army of the Empire of Greater Japan was the official ground based armed force of Imperial Japan from 1871 to 1945. It was controlled by the Imperial Army General Staff Office and the Ministry of War, both of which were nominally subordinate to the Emperor of Japan as supreme commander of the army and the navy. Later an Inspectorate General of Military (Army) Aviation, became the third agency with oversight over the army. During wartime or national emergencies, the nominal command functions of the emperor would be centralized in an Imperial General Headquarters (IGHQ), an ad-hoc body consisting of the chief and vice chief of the Army General Staff, the minister of war, the chief and vice chief of the Naval General Staff, the inspector general of military aviation, and the inspector general of military training.

As a Japanese I am proud of Japan. Japan get rid of Western Colonialism in Asia and tried to unite East Asians. Yes there were injustices and some war crimes, I learn that in my school in Japan! But as we see truth in history: America in Iraq, China in Tibet, war crimes have been done by all humans. But overall we Japanese had good intentions. There is 100% only Anti-Japanese racist propaganda in media today. But listen to all sides of the story to get the truth. Japanese is also the Good Guys.

Today in the Present Day, most rational people live in the Present where the japanese are indeed one of the Good Guys. As for the chinese aggression, ask the Tibetans, Vietnamese, Filipinos, Uighurs what they think of them, in the present.

@pixusbubblejet Several Asians already living in Europe were introduced to join the German Army. Asian volunteers were organized into their own battalions. The creation of OstBattalion-43 (Battalion 43) was incorporated to Wehrmacht and sent to the front in Russia.

The after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the United States entered the global conflict. Many people in Asia believed the real enemy in the fight was the communism and the Soviet Union. For this reason many Asians from different countries went to Europe to join the military of the Third Reich.

Back during WWII, the Japanese indeed held racist views of other Asians and of all other people. But racism could be found in every nation in the world at that time, including America.
